IMPORTANT Session Preparation 

Newborn sessions are best done within the first 6-14 days of bubs being born, before they become too alert and uncurl. I recommend Newborn sessions be held in the morning as they tend to have their heaviest day sleep - 10am is usually a good time. 

Baby will need a nice big feed just prior to the session so that he or she has a full tummy and is nice and sleepy (I recommend feeding bubs before travelling to the studio, they usually settle and get very sleepy on the drive to the Studio). We can also expect a few "top up" feedings throughout the session, due to the warmth and stimulation. 

I recommend a bath the morning of your session to stimulate baby and keep them awake prior to the session. Please don’t dress baby in anything that needs to be removed over the head. A zip up/button up one piece suit is perfect. 

I will supply posing bowls, props, blankets, wraps and hats/headbands on the day however if there is a particular prop you would like used I do ask that you supply it. 

What to Wear 

I shoot my FAMILY PHOTOS using either a grey, whilte, cream, black or a mocha/light brown. This backdrop works best with neutrals and pastels. Also for mum please pack a strapless nude bra and undies please as I may change your outfit to one provided by the studio. 

I do like to have the option of using a BLACK backdrop. If you have it, please bring black clothing. Dad in a black t-shirt or polo shirt with not large logos or patterns on it. Mum preferably in a tight fitting singlet top (not maternity with the little clips showing). 

For the SIBLING PHOTOS the children can wear what ever pretty outfit you have handy and I'll match the baby's wrap to suit the colour of the outfit. Please steer clear of outfits with stripes or with collars for the boys as they ride up (particularly if the siblings are young) Pastels always work really well.
